Internships
Representative Tom Davis' Internship Program is designed to allow students interested in public service to gain firsthand knowledge of how a Congressional office works. Interns experience the fast-paced and exciting atmosphere of our office. Working in one of Tom Davis' offices provides an experience that is not paralleled in any other working environment. Click here to apply for an internship. Opportunities and Responsibilities Interns work during the hours that the office is open, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on a volunteer basis (flexible during the school year). Examples of an intern's day-to-day tasks range from answering phones and sorting mail to attending meetings and monitoring legislation. Interns will become familiar with the members of the Congressional staff and frequently assist legislative aides and constituent liaisons with research and projects. They have the opportunity to do research at the Library of Congress and to interact with other Congressional offices. The social benefits of being an intern include meeting other interns and staff members as well as participating in softball games. Internships Available Unpaid internships are available in Congressman Davis' office on Capitol Hill and in his district offices, located in Annandale and Woodbridge. Priority will be given to residents of the 11th District, and acceptance of applicants will be based on the merits and skills of the individual. Individuals interested in issues pertaining to the District of Columbia can apply for an internship with the Government Reform Committee, chaired by Congressman Davis. Congressman Davis' offices provide a highly competitive and rewarding internship program that offers positions during the spring, summer and fall months. All internship positions are filled on an as-need basis. If you are interested in an internship, please contact Mike Di Sabato in the Washington office at (202) 225-1492 or Joan Hebrance in the Annandale office at (703) 916-9610. For summer internships, applications must be mailed in by March 31st, and you will receive notice by mid-April about the status of your internship. Applications for the spring and fall terms are accepted year-round. Click here to apply for an internship. The House Page Program
The House Page Program is an opportunity for high school students to serve their country and learn about the legislative process. Pages are sponsored by a Member of Congress and work as a team with other pages on the House floor. The Page Program is administered by the Office of the Clerk.
Pages are high school juniors who must be sixteen years of age with at least a 3.0 GPA. Pages who serve during the school year attend the House Page School which has only an eleventh grade curriculum. Pages live at the Page Residence Hall and are supervised by a full-time, round-the-clock staff. Pages are paid employees whose room and board fees are subtracted from their paycheck. The summer page program is divided between a two-month appointment and a one-month appointment.
The House Page Program provides high school students the opportunity to learn about the legislative process with a hands-on approach. If you are interested in the House Page Program, please contact Mike Di Sabato at (202) 225-1492.
